Hayata merhaba denilen ilk günlerde bebek cildi gelişimini tam tamamlamadığı ve asitlik derecesi farklı olduğu için kullanılan ürünlere karşı hassasiyet gösterebilmektedir. Bebek teni ile buluşan kıyafetler, şampuanlar, bebek bakım kremleri, bezler, deterjan ve yumuşatıcılar gibi ürünler bebeklerin alerjik hassasiyetini artırabilmektedir. Tercih edilen kıyafetlerin dokusu, kıyafetlerin yıkanmasında kullanılan yöntem ve ürünlerin de bu noktada önemi daha da artmaktadır.

Elde Yıkama Yöntemi
Hastane yatış süresince ve hastaneden çıktıktan ilk birkaç gün içerisinde yeni doğan sürecindeki bebeğin kıyafetleri elde yıkama yöntemi ile sabun veya sabun tozu kullanılarak yıkanmalıdır.
Çamaşır Makinesinde Yıkama Yöntemi
Doğumdan sonra ilerleyen günlerde 30 derece sıcaklıkta, kısa yıkama programı tercih edilerek yıkanmalıdır. Unutulmamalıdır ki bebek kıyafetleri yüksek sıcaklık ve uzun programda özelliklerini kaybedebilirler.
Dikkat edilmesi gereken bir başka husus ise bebek kıyafetleri ile yetişkin kıyafetleri aynı anda yıkanmamalıdır. Yetişkinlerin kıyafetleri bebek kıyafetlerine göre daha fazla kimyasal ve boyar madde içerdiğinden dolayı bir arada yıkanması durumunda bebek kıyafetleri hassas özelliklerini kaybedebilmektedir.
Kullanılan Temizleme Ürününe Göre Yıkama Yöntemi
Bebek kıyafetleri mümkün olduğunca elde, sabun tozu ya da sabun kullanılarak yıkanmalıdır. Ancak sabun tozu ve sabunun bebek kıyafetleri üzerinde renk soldurma gibi olumsuz bir etkisi olduğu da göz önünde bulundurulmalıdır.
Çamaşır makinesine atılan bebek kıyafetleri ise bebekler için özel olarak üretilen kimyasal maddesi ve deterjan oranı daha düşük olan bebek deterjanları kullanılarak yıkanmalıdır. Yumuşatıcı olarak da yine kimyasal maddesi daha az olan, daha az koku granülü içeren bebekler için özel olarak üretilmiş yumuşatıcılar tercih edilmelidir.
Bebek Kıyafeti Yıkamanın Püf Noktaları
- Bebek kıyafetleri ile naftalin gibi kimyasal koku maddeleri içeren ürünler kullanılmamalıdır.
- Mümkün olduğunca kokusuz, boyasız yıkama ürünleri tercih edilmelidir.
- Katı deterjanlara göre kıyafetlere daha kolay işleyen sıvı deterjanlar tercih edilebilir.
- Bebek kıyafetlerini yıkarken çamaşır yıkama filesi kullanarak kıyafetlerin kaybolmasını engelleyebilirsiniz.
- Deterjan artığı kalmaması için bebek kıyafetleri yıkandıktan sonra iki kere durulanmalıdır.
- Özellikle doğumdan sonraki günlerde çok hassas olan bebek cildi için, dış etkilere maruz kalan bebek kıyafetleri ütülenerek kullanılmalıdır.
- Kusmuk lekesi gibi zor çıkan lekeler bekletilmeden yıkanmalıdır. Kuruyan lekeler kimyasal özelliği az olan bebek deterjanları ile kolayca arındırılamamaktadır.
- Yıkanan bebek kıyafetleri sokağa bakan balkon tellerinden ziyade kapalı bir odada ya da düşük kurutma ısısında kurutucu da kurutulmalıdır.
