Son Kullanma Tarihi Geçmiş Tavuk Yenir mi?
Tavuk eti her daim kırmızı etten çok daha ekonomiktir ve bu da tercih edilme nedenlerinden bir tanesidir. Fakat dikkat edilmediğinde, tavuk eti en fazla zehirleyen gıda maddelerinden bir tanesi haline gelmektedir.
Tavuk eti, çok uygun koşullarda saklanmalıdır. Ayrıca bu saklanma işlemi esnasında da son tüketim tarihine çok dikkat edilmelidir. Marketlerde satılan ve özel tavuk çiftliklerinde üretilen tavuklar zaten çok sağlıklı olmadığı için son kullanma tarihinin geçmesi halinde bu tavuklar tehlikeli birer besine dönüşmektedir.
Son kullanma tarihi geçen tavukta bozulma belirtileri ortaya çıkmaya başlar. Bu belirtiler görülmeye başlandığında ise artık bu tavuğun hiçbir koşulda tüketilmemesi gerekir. Bozulmaya başlayan tavuk üzerinde zararlı mikroorganizmalar üremeye başlar ve bu da sağlık için ciddi bir tehdit anlamına gelir.
Tavuk Satın Alma Aşaması
Tavuk satın alınırken, ilk bakılması gereken yer, son kullanma tarihidir. Son kullanma tarihinden en az 3 gün öncesinde satın almak en uygunudur, diğer besinlerde bu tarih çok büyük önem taşımazken, tavuk için tam tersidir. Bazı tavukların son kullanma tarihinden daha önce de bozulabildiği de unutulmamalıdır.
Poşetin içinde çok fazla miktarda kan bulunan ve sulu kesim (petli) tavukların da satın alınmaması gerekmektedir.
Tüketim Tarihi Geçen Tavuk Bozulmuş Mudur?
Son kullanma tarihi geçmiş olan tavukta bozulmaya yönelik belirtilerin bulunmaması durumunda, şayet tavuk derin dondurucuya atılmış ve bu süre boyunca hiç çıkarılmamışsa, tüketiminde bir sakınca yoktur. Ancak buzu çözüldükten sonra aşağıdaki noktalara çok dikkat edilmesi gerekir:
- Sağlıklı bir tavuk eti, cilt rengine çok yakın olan bir renk tonuna sahiptir. Ancak eğer bozulma başlamış ise tavuk etinin rengi de sararmaya başlar. Ten renginden daha fazla sarı renge yakın olan tavuk hiçbir şekilde tüketilmemelidir. Bu durumun en iyi gözlemlenebileceği bölge, tavuğun derisi ve deri ile bağlantılı dokulardır.
- Son tüketim tarihi geçtiği için bozulmaya başlamış olan tavukta, ağır ve ekşi bir koku söz konusudur. Bu ilk belirtilerden bir tanesidir ve bu nedenle derin dondurucudan çıkarılan tavukta da bu kokuya son derece dikkat etmek gerekir.
- Tavuk derin dondurucudan çıkarılmış ancak son kullanma tarihi de geçmiş ise dış derideki dokuya bakılmalıdır. Halen yenilebilir durumda olan tavukta, buzun çözülmesi sonrasında bir farklılık olmayacaktır. Ancak bozulmaya başlayan tavuk, dış yüzeyinde yapışkan bir doku ile kendini belli eder. Ayrıca tavuk etinin üzerine bastırıldığında et hemen eski haline dönmüyor ve et üzerinde çukur kalıyor ise, et bozulmuştur ve artık tüketilmemesi gerekir.
