2-)Cam Kavanoz ile Saklama
Cam kavanoz ile yeşil mercimek saklamak da oldukça etkili sonuçlar vermektedir. Bunun için uygun büyüklüklerdeki cam kavanozlara yeşil mercimekleri doldurarak kuru ve ısıdan uzak ortamlarda saklayabilirsiniz.
Bu yöntemi uygularken dikkat etmeniz gereken en önemli nokta kavanozların kapaklarının sıkı bir şekilde kapanarak mercimeklerin hava ile temasının kesilmesini sağlamaktır. Bu şekilde mutfak dolaplarında ya da kilerde yeşil mercimek saklayabilirsiniz.

Buzlukta yeşil mercimek saklamak oldukça etkili bir yöntemdir. Bunun için öncelikle saklamak istediğiniz miktarda yeşil mercimeği haşlayın ve soğuması için bir süre bekleyin. Daha sonra buzdolabı poşetlerine tek yemeklik olacak şekilde paylaştırarak buzdolabınızın buzluk kısmına yerleştirin.
NOT: Fazla miktarlarda saklanan yeşil mercimekler belli aralıklar ile geniş bir tepsiye dökülerek havalandırılmalıdır. Bu işlem yeşil mercimeklerin böceklenme sürelerini uzatarak daha uzun süre saklama imkanı sunmaktadır.
