İstenilmeyen durumların ortaya çıkması durumunda akrilik boya lekelerini çıkarmak için çeşitli yöntemler uygulamak gerekir. Her ne kadar çeşitli birçok yöntemin varlığından söz edilse de bu yöntemler arasında gerçekten etkili olan iki farklı yöntem bulunmaktadır. Bunlardan birincisi solvent olarak bilinen izopropil alkol kullanmaktır, diğeri ise amonyak ve sirke kullanılarak oluşturulan karışımdır.

1-)İzopropil Alkol (Solvent) Kullanarak
Bileşen adı izopropil alkol olan halk arasında daha çok solvent olarak bilinen madde, kıyafetlerde yani kumaşlarda oluşan akrilik boya lekelerini çıkarmak için oldukça etkili bir maddedir. Solvent kullanarak akrilik boya lekelerini çıkarmak için uygulanması gereken işlemler oldukça basittir.
Bunun için öncelikli olarak lekeli bölgenin büyüklüğüne bakılmalıdır. Lekeli bölgenin büyüklüğüne göre uygun büyüklükte bir kap temin edin. Kabı hazırladıktan sonra ise kıyafetinizin akrilik boya lekesi olan kısmı tamamen kabın tabanında kalacak şekilde kıyafetinizi kaba yerleştirin ve üzerine bol miktarda izopropil alkol dökerek lekenin tamamen izopropil alkol içerisinde kalmasını sağlayın. Bu işlemin ardından bir süre beklemeniz gerekecek. Bu süre lekenin durumuna göre değişiklik göstermektedir. Eğer akrilik boya kumaş üzerinde uzun süre kalmış ve çok fazla kurumuş ise bekleme süresi de uzayacaktır.
Aynı şekilde çok yoğun bir boya söz konusuysa ve boya taze değil ise yine bekleme süresi uzayacaktır. Bu aşamadaki amaç boyanın yumuşamasını sağlamaktır. Bu nedenle bir süre bekledikten sonra lekenin yeterince yumuşayıp yumuşamadığını kontrol ederek beklemeye devam edip etmeyeceğinize karar verebilirsiniz. Bekleme işleminin ardından da bir bıçak yardımı ile ya da tırnağınız ile kumaşa zarar vermeyecek şekilde boyayı kumaştan kazıyarak lekeyi uzaklaştırabilirsiniz. Ardından kıyafetinizi normal koşullarda yıkadığınız şekilde yıkayarak tamamen temizleyebilirsiniz.
2-)Amonyak ve Sirke Kullanarak
Amonyak ve sirke yöntemini kullanmak için öncelikli olarak yeterince büyük bir kabın içine lekeli kıyafetinizi koyarak lekeyi geçecek kadar bol miktarda su ile doldurun. Daha sonra ayrı bir kapta 1 su bardağı amonyak, 1 su bardağı sirke ve 1 avuç tuzu karıştırın. Ardından kıyafeti sudan çıkarıp suyunu sıkın ve renksiz bir sünger ya da kumaş yardımı ile hazırladığınız karışımı lekenin üzerini ovalayarak uygulayın. Leke tamamen çıktığında durulayıp kurutun.
