Mantarın çeşiti ve türüne göre belirli bir zaman içinde zehirlenme görülebilir. Bazen mantar tüketiminden sonra 24 saat içinde bazen ise 48 saat içinde zehirlenme belirtileri ortaya çıkabilir.
Kişinin mantar yedikten sonra vücudunda olağan dışı reaksiyonlar hissetmesi durumunda mutlaka en yakın sağlık kuruluşuna gitmesi gereklidir. Zamanında tedavi edilmeyen zehirlenmeler ölümcül sonuçlar doğurabileceği için çok dikkatli olunmalıdır.
