Dil altında çıkan küçül dil bazı durumlarda kötü huylu bir tümör kaynaklı olmayabilir ve alınmasına gerek yoktur. Bu tarz durumlarda oluşan yapının iyi huylu ya da kötü huylu olduğunu anlama için alınan parçanın patolojide incelenmesi gerekmektedir.

Dil altında başta olmak üzere ağız boşluğunun tamamında yara oluşumu gözlenebilir. bu durum genellikle bakteri kaynaklıdır. Af olarak halk arasında adlandırılan bu yaralar kişinin ağrı ve acı duymasına sebep olmaktadır.
Bu tarz bakteri kaynaklı yaralar; antibakteriyel ağız gargaraları kullanımı sonucunda genelde geçmektedir. Ancak bunun yerine evde düzenli olarak tuzlu su ile de gargara yapabilirsiniz.
Dil altında ya da ağız boşluğunda oluşan yaraların bir diğer kaynağı ise strestir. Bazı kişiler aşırı stresli olduğu zamanlarda vücudu bu duruma tepki verir. vücutta meydana gelen ağrılar ya da yaralar bu duruma örnek olarak gösterilebilir.
Bu durumda oluşan yaralarda kişinin stresine sebep olan etmenin ortadan kaldırılması gerekmektedir.
