Küflenmiş zeytinin temizlenmesi olanaksızdır. Çünkü küf biz görmesek bile vardır. Yani gözle görülür kısmını temizlesek bile diğer zeytinlere de bulaştığından tüketmek sakıncalı olacaktır.
Küflenmiş Zeytin Nasıl Temizlenir?
Zeytininiz küflenmiş ise kesinlikle temizlemek ile uğraşmamalısınız. Her ne kadar temizliyor olsanız da küf oluşumuna neden olan bakteriler diğer zeytinlere bulaşmıştır. Siz gözünüz ile görmüyor olsanız da aslında temiz gibi duran zeytinlerde küflenmeye başlamıştır.
Zeytin hassas bir gıdadır. Doğru bir şekilde muhafaza edilmediğinde ya da uzunca bir süre saklandığında direkt olarak bozulmaya başlayacaktır. Bu yüzden zeytin alırken her zaman tüketeceğiniz miktarda almanızı öneririz. Aksi takdirde 10 kiloluk bir zeytin tenekesinin içinde 1 zeytin dahi küflense, bu diğer zeytinlerin de tüketilmesini engellemektedir.
Zeytin Alırken Dikkat Edilmesi Gerekenler Nelerdir?
- Zeytin, yukarıda da bahsettiğimiz gibi aşırı miktarda alınmaya müsaitliği bir gıda değildir. Her ne kadar çok fazla zeytin de tüketiyor olsanız, alırken her zaman minimum düzeyde tutmanızı öneririz. Aksi taktirde zamanla yumuşamaya, bozulmaya ve küflenmeye başlayacaktır. Bu da kalan zeytinlerinizin de ziyan olmasına sebep olur.
- Alacağınız zeytini, eğer kapalı olarak alıyorsanız doğru bir şekilde muhafaza edilmiş ve bilinen markaların ürünlerini tercih etmelisiniz. Herhangi bir mağduriyet yaşamanız durumunda böylece muhatap olabileceğiniz yetkili kişiler de bulabilirsiniz. Hem bilinen markalar, şikayetlere daha fazla önem vermektedir. Zeytini açık olarak tercih ediyorsanız da yine güvendiğiniz bir yerden almanızı öneririz. Yine açık zeytin alacağınız zaman zeytinin tadına bakarak almalısınız. Böylece yumuşayıp yumuşamadığını da kolaylıkla anlayabilirsiniz. Unutmayın ki açık zeytinlerde, herhangi bir zeytin bozulmaya başladığında direkt olarak diğer zeytinlere de zarar verebilmektedir. O yüzden açık zeytin alırken bilhassa dikkatli olmalısınız.
- Yine kapalı zeytinlerde son kullanma tarihlerine dikkat etmelisiniz.
- Yukarıda da belirttiğimiz gibi, zeytini tüketeceğiniz miktarda almaya özen göstermelisiniz.
Zeytin Saklarken Nelere Dikkat Edilmelidir?
- Ambalajından çıkarılan zeytin ya da açık olarak aldığınız zeytinler oda sıcaklığında bekletmeye müsait değillerdir. Bu yüzden zeytinlerinizi her zaman buzdolabında muhafaza etmelisiniz.
- Zeytinler hava aldığında kolaylıkla bozulabilmektedir. Bu yüzden muhafaza ederken cam kavanozlar içerisinde ya da teneke kutu içerisinde saklamalısınız. Aynı şekilde buzdolabı poşetleri de zeytinleri saklamak için oldukça ideal olacaktır.
- Zeytinler sade halleriyle değil baharat ve yağ ile harmanlanıp da tüketilebilmektedir. Fakat zeytinlerinizi saklarken bundan kaçınmanız en doğrusu olacaktır. Şöyle ki, zeytinlerinizin hepsini yağ ve baharatlamak yerine, o an tüketeceğiniz zeytinlerinizi ayrı bir kap içerisine alıp bu şekilde harmanlayabilirsiniz. Baharat ve yağ ile karıştırılmış zeytinlerin uzun süre muhafaza edilmesi de zeytinin tadını değiştirdiği gibi bozulma süresini kısaltabilmektedir.
NOT: Sakladığınız zeytinlerde renk değişimi, yumuşama meydana gelmiş ise bir tane alarak tadına bakın. Eğer tadında acılık varsa tüketmekten kaçınmalısınız.
