Kış aylarının soğuğunda iyi bir C vitamini deposu olmasından dolayı limon hastalıklara karşı da iyi bir koruyucudur. Ancak yaz aylarında limon yetişmediği için farklı koşullarda yetiştirilmeye çalışılır. Bu şekilde elde edilebilecek limon miktarı çok fazla olamadığı için ve de daha maliyetli olduğu için yaz aylarında limon yeterince lezzetli olmamak ile birlikte oldukça da pahalı olmaktadır.
Yaz aylarında da akdeniz salata, çoban salata gibi çeşitli salatalar sevilerek tüketildiği için limon ihtiyacı bulunmaktadır. Bu ihtiyacı karşılamak için en uygun yöntem ise limonun en lezzetli olduğu kış aylarında çeşitli yöntemler ile yaz aylarına hazırlık yapmak olacaktır.

1-)Buz Kalıplarında Saklama Yöntemi
Buz kalıplarında saklama yöntemi en ideal limon suyu saklama yöntemidir. Bunun nedeni ise hem yapımının kolay olması hem de kullanımının kolay olmasıdır. Bunun için öncelikli olarak istediğiniz miktarda limonu mevsiminde yani kış aylarında alarak hepsini tek tek iyice yıkayın. Ardından limonları enlemesine olacak şekilde ortadan ikiye keserek ayırın. Daha sonra ise hazırlamış olduğunuz tüm limonların suyunu sıkın ve buz torbalarına dökün. Özellikle de ağzından geri dökülmeyen buz torbaları bu yöntem için en uygun olan buz torbalarıdır.
Eğer bu torbalardan bulamıyorsanız, normal olarak her yerde bulabileceğiniz buz torbaları da işinizi görecektir. Bu aşamada dikkat etmeniz gereken nokta hazırlamış olduğunuz limon sularının dökülmemesini sağlamaktır. Buz torbalarını buzluğa ya da derin dondurucuya uygun pozisyonda yerleştirerek yıl boyu rahatlıkla saklayabilirsiniz.
2-)Konserve Yaparak Saklama Yöntemi
Uygulaması oldukça basit olan bu yöntem için limonları iyice yıkadıktan sonra dilim dilim ya da elma dilimi şeklinde keserek hazırlayın. Ardından yeterli büyüklükte bir kavanoz ya da küçük küçük birkaç kavanoz alarak alt kısımlarına 2-3 kaşık tuz ekleyin. Daha sonra hazırladığınız limon dilimlerini tuza batırarak kavanozun içine atın ve kavanoz dolunca kapatın. 1 hafta boyunca kavanozu sallayarak limonların yumuşayıp sularını iyice bırakmasını sağlayın.
