Dondurucuya koyacağınız hemen hemen bütün sebze ve meyveleri yıkamadan kesinlikle koymayınız. Yaban mersinini mevsiminde güzelce toplayınız. Çok narin ve çabuk bozulan bir yapıya sahip oldukları için ya hemen tüketiniz ya da saklama yöntemlerini kullanınız.
Dondurucuda saklayacağınız yaban mersinleri için hızlı olmanız gerekmektedir. Yaban mersinini topladıktan sonra beklemeden güzel bir şekilde bol miktardaki su ile yıkayınız.
2-Çürükleri Ayırın
Dondurucuya koyacağınız ürünlerde çürüklerin olmadığından emin olunuz. Yıkama işleminden sonra ya da önce mutlaka çürük, bozulmaya yakın olan yaban mersinlerini ayırınız. Bu işlem yaban mersinlerinin dondurucuda daha fazla bozulmadan kalmasını sağlayacaktır.
