Yer Elması Nasıl Saklanır?
Her zaman yapraklı olan ve yılda bir kere ekilen bir bitki olan yer elmasının kökeni Amerika’dır. Ortalama ağırlık olarak 75-200 gram aralığında değişen yer elmaları gri, pembe ya da mor renklerde olabilmekle beraber 100 gramında sadece 73 kalori içermektedir. Kolesterol içermemesi, yüksek kalitede fitokimyasal ve antioksidan içermesi ile oldukça faydalı olan yer elması, diyet yapan kişiler için ideal bir tatlandırıcı olarak da tercih edilmektedir.

Özellikle demir, bakır ve potasyum gibi elementlerin kaynağı olan yer elmasının 100 gramlık taze kök kısmı ortalama bir bireyin potasyum gereksiniminin yüzde dokuzunu karşılamaktadır. Kalp dostu bir mineral olan potasyuma ek olarak yüksek miktarda B vitamini içeren yer elması pek çok şekilde kullanılabilmektedir. Çiğ olarak salatalarda, pürelerde, sotelerde kullanılabilen yer elması fazla pişirildiğinde ise yumuşayarak lapalaşabilmektedir.

Taze olarak mevsiminde alınan yer elması buzdolabında yaklaşık 10 gün süreyle muhafaza edilebilmektedir. Ancak mevsimi dışında da yer elması tüketmek isteyen bireyler taze olarak aldıkları yer elmalarını buzdolabının derin dondurucu kısmında muhafaza edebilmektedir.
Yer Elması Derin Dondurucuda Nasıl Saklanır?
- Çürüğü olmadan seçerek aldığınız taze yer elmalarınızın kabuklarını soyunuz.
- Soyulan yer elmalarınızı bir kabın içerisine koyduktan sonra üzerlerini kapatacak kadar soğuk su ilave ediniz.
- Soğuk su eklediğiniz yer elmalarınızın bulunduğu kaba bir tane limonun suyu sıkılır ve ardından ocakta beş dakika süresince kaynatılır.
- Kaynama işleminden sonra yer elmaları soğuk su bulunan başka bir kaba aktarılır.
- İşlemler tamamlandıktan sonra tüketileceği miktarlarda ayrılan yer elmaları buzdolabı poşetlerine konulduktan sonra buzdolabına konur.
- Dondurulan yer elmalarını kullanırken çözünmesini beklemeden doğrudan yemeklere ekleyebilirsiniz.
