Vazelinin zift lekelerinde kullanılmasının en temel sebebi zifti yumuşatmasıdır. Bu şekilde kumaşa bulaşan zift yumuşar ve kumaştan kolayca ayrılarak çıkarılabilir.
Vazelini zift lekesi bulunan kumaşa bol miktarda sürünüz ve bir süre bekleyiniz. Ziftin yumuşadığı an sert bir cisim ile kumaştan zifti ayırmaya çalışınız. Bu işlemi gerçekleştirirken kendinize ve kumaşa zarar vermediğinizden emin olunuz.
2-)Deterjan Kullanın
Zift lekelerini temizlemek için deterjan kullanabilirsiniz. Özellikle bol deterjanlı ılık su içerisinde kumaşı bekleterek ziftten kurtulabilirsiniz. Burada kullandığınız deterjanın lipofilik özelliğine dikkat etmeniz gerekmektedir. Bu özellik kumaştaki zift lekesinin daha kolay bir şekilde çıkmasını sağlayabilmektedir.
Deterjanlı su ile yıkamanıza rağmen zift lekesi kumaştan çıkmıyorsa, diğer alternatif yöntemleri deneyebilirsiniz. Bu yöntemin etkili olması için öncelikli olarak vazelin ile ziftli bölgeyi yumuşatmanız, fazla zifti çıkarmanız gerekmektedir.
3-)Tiner Kullanın
Tiner, zift lekesini en çabuk ve kolay çıkaracak maddelerden bir tanesidir. Benzer benzeri çözer mantığına dayanarak zift lekesinden kolaylıkla kurtulabilirsiniz.
Tiner, apolar organik çözücülerin kolayca çözülmesini sağlamaktadır. Kumaşa zarar vermeyen tiner zift lekesinden kolayca kurtulmanızı sağlayabilir. Ancak bu yöntemi uygularken dikkatli olunması gerekmektedir.
Tiner, yüksek yanıcı özelliğe sahip bir kimyasaldır. Bu yöntemi uygular iken yakınınıza ateş ve yakıcı malzemeler yaklaştırmayın. Aynı zamanda bu işlemden sonra kumaşı uygun yıkama koşullarına göre bol su ile yıkayınız.
4-)Yağ ve Terebentin Kullanın
Bu yöntemde amaç öncelikli olarak ziftin kumaş üzerinde yumuşamasını sağlamak ardından güçlü bir çözücü kullanarak kumaştan zift lekesini çözerek uzaklaştırmaktır.
Burada zift lekesini yumuşatmak için yağ kullanın. Yağlı malzeme kullanmanız da işinizi görür. Bunun için vazelinden yararlanabilirsiniz. Yumuşattığınız zift lekesini çıkarmak için güçlü çözücü özelliği olan terebentinden yararlanınız.
Bu işlemin ardından kumaşı uygun yıkama koşullarına bağlı olarak ister evde isterseniz de çamaşır makinesinde yıkayınız.
