Yün belirli aralıklar ile havalandırılması, temizlenmesi ve tekrar yerine konulması gereken bir maddedir. Temizlenme ve havalanma işlemi yapılmazsa yün içerisinde güve oluşumu kaçınılmaz bir sondur.

1-)Yün Miktarını Doğru Ayarlayın
Yün, yastık doldurulması esnasında yapılan en büyük hatalardan bir tanesi konulan yün miktarının fazla ya da az gelmesidir. Doğru ayarlanmadığı takdirde yün fazla gelirse yastık derecede sert olur ve çoğu zaman kullanılamaz.
Bu sebeple yün miktarı ayarlandıktan sonra mutlaka yastığın üzerinde deneme yapılmalı, kişi kendi zevkine doğru yün miktarını ayarlamalıdır.
2-)Havalandırma İşlemi
Kişi yün yastığı doldurmadan önce içerisine koyacağı yünlerin öncelikli olarak temiz olduğundan emin olmalıdır. Temiz olduğuna emin olduktan sonra yün havalandırılmalıdır.
Bu işlem yünün havalanması, var ise kokunun gitmesinden ve yünün dövülerek kabartılmasından oluşmaktadır. Yün yastıklar ara sıra dövülerek kabartma işlemi yapılmalıdır, aksi halde yastık sertleşir ve kullanılmaz bir hal alır.
Havalandırma işlemi yün içerisinde böcek ve güce oluşumunu engellediği için de sık sık yapılması gereken önemli adımlardan bir tanesidir.
3-)Lavanta Koyun
Lavanta, güve oluşumunu engellediği için sıklıkla yün içeren ürünlerin bulunduğu yerlere konulmaktadır. Yastığınızı kapatmadan önce içerisine lavanta bulundurun bir kese koyabilirsiniz. Bu işlem sayesinde yün yastığınızın ömrünü uzatmış olursunuz.
